All electric heaters suck -- they just do resistive heat and put it into something. Some do a better job of doing it safely, but they all have to make the same heat from the same energy, its the law!

E.E.C.B. Forces Best Buy To Finally Replace Defective TV

Yeah, except 4 bulbs in short order points to a bad ballast or other part. I'd like to say I had a similar problem with a Panasonic tv from a few years ago and had to do exactly the same thing (EECB) to get it replaced. Funny part with mine was they fixed the ballast but broke the LVDS cable delivering the picture signal to the LCD. Waited *six* weeks and they still couldn't get the part.

In any case, since our original tv was very expensive we got a quite reasonable allowance for a new one, which is an LCD panel, which at this point is all I can recommend people do... RP-TV is really not worth it anymore.

@RustyRyan: Or alternatively, you could go to a well managed mechanic in the area and pay less. The only disadvantage that they've got is owners who oppose the right to repair act.

I don't doubt this, I tried mailing some plastic items in the mail last christmas. They were significantly thicker than a CD/DVD but made of acrylic. They were broken into 2-3 pieces each time. Next year we're gonna just forego anything interesting in with the christmas cards. Gar.

This is even after putting on extra stamps, etc. Just the post office does not have machines that know their own strength, the process requires a human to figure out WTF.
