THis is STANDARD procedure with Verizon.
I did wait to send mine back for about 2 weeks. But I had a tracking # and each time I called the rep would track it, but tell me "it doesn't mean we have it" Whatever that means
They suspended my phone one time and thats when I became very angry and found the regional mangers contact info.
Always escalate the situation immediately to corporate relations. They have half a brain and can actually determine that a tracking # is indeed proof that you mailed it back.
This is very cut and dry and there is no excuse for the poor system they have.

Way out of line? What does that even mean? In the state where I owned my towing company, storage on any non consent tow (trespass, police, repo) was regulated at $20 a day for over 20 years and just last year was raised to $35 a day. For that we had to comply with zoning, environmental, security, plowing, fencing, records, pictures, and be responsible for the vehicle.
Oh and our rent was several thousand. Our insurance was several thousand. The electric bill several hundred. Monthly.
We also had to staff the lot so cars could be available within a certain time, by law.
Oh and at least 1/4 of the cars impounded are abandoned and worthless but due to law I had to store them for 81 days, run newspaper ads, send certified letters, all to get maybe $200 in scrap after towing it twice and all of the above mentioned.
Its nice to throw an opinion out there about what fees are appropriate, but usually there is more involved than apparent.

I smile every time someome gets burned on Ebay. Eventually you will learn your lesson. Ebay buyers are jerks and sellers are scammy. Of course not all, but many.
Ebay buying paypal is a HUGE conflict of interest. Plus the buyers and sellers are ebay's customers.. so all the balls are in their court.
They are bi-polar in the way they act in dispute situations. You have no recourse ever. Ebay has been putting itself out of business for a long time, but it is as bad as it gets now.
I refuse to buy or sell on there because you never know what will happen

I'm glad every person in the USA has to have a terrible experience with Sears before they stop buying things from them, never mind actually use their delivery AND install services.
Kennmore is just rebadged something else. I am very confident the OP could have found a comparable dishwasher at any one of the other retailers.
Sears stores are closing all over the place. You WILL have trouble getting parts for this fake Kennmore brand eventually. Their staff don't care, Their systems are terrible,. They cannot perform the most simple functions.
WHy do people shop there again?
