Ripoffs Encountered At The Grocery Store
I've never seen a package announce "No corn syrup". I see plenty, though, which announce "no high-fructose corn syrup", which is an entirely different product.
Thousands Of Floridians Line Up To Remind Us That Not Everyone Has A 52" 3D TV
When Comcast pushed their digital conversion onto us, they actually phoned and arranged to send us a set-top box for our main tv, and converters for our other two tvs. All at no charge. Not even a monthly fee.
I hate that damned ugly STB, though. We were happily box-free before the digital switch.
Statistical Evidence You Should Just Stay Home And Eat In On Valentine's Day
I don't think my wife and I have ever gone out on Valentine's day. Married 31 years.
Wells Fargo Thinks USPS Is Fastest Way To Tell Me About Bounced Check
I have an even better one. Star Financial Bank sends you an email with a password-protected PDF attached. No other information in the email about that it's about. No "Notice of Insufficient Funds" in the subject. Just, "Important Information". The only thing the email says is that you need to use your account password to open the PDF. This, of course, makes the email look and smell like a phishing scam, and not a genuine communication from your bank.
3 Ways To Keep That Old, Embarrassing Car Chugging Along
We have a 2001 Maxima 5-speed that is quickly approaching 400,000 miles. Regular oil and filter changes and replacing the occasional failed part keeps it rolling along.
Has Olive Garden Lost Its Way In A Forest Of Breadsticks & Cheap Gimmicks?
It really shouldn't be hard to renovate OG and its reputation. It begins and ends with the food. It isn't hard, or expensive, to make delicious Italian (or, even, "italian") food. The only real trick is the ingredients must be fresh. And, sadly, that's probably not possible for a national chain that must maintain a predictable menu nationwide. Thus, the bagged and frozen crap.
Disgruntled Comcast Customers Not Happy To Have Cable Commercials Cutting In At Critical Moments During NFL Playoffs
Comcast regularly plays their own commercials over the top of paid national and local ads. Often, it seems like a show is being sponsored by Comcast, there are so many.
Why Wikipedia Decided To Join The Blackout And Potentially Threaten Your Homework
I've already been tripped-up by the Wiki blackout this morning. Yay for Google cache.
Yuengling Is Now America's Largest Brewer
For an adjunct lager (in this case, corn), Yuengling is about as good as it gets. S.A.'s Boston Lager has it beat, but they really are night-and-day brews, with BL being an all-grain beer.

Buying Generic Doesn't Save Shoppers As Much As It Used To
Being made in the same factory ≠ the same product.
A factory can have multiple lines going at once, producing similar products with widely different levels of quality. Single production lines can (and are) often re-set to make a run of lower-quality product, too.
The widest variability between nations and store brands, that I've seen, are in the canned goods, like vegetables. Store brands almost always seem to have a higher water-to-product ratio, and the product itself always seems to be made of lower-quality pieces.
I'll give my local big-box grocery, Meijer, its due, though, when it comes to their "organic" lines. The quality actually seems to be up there with the national brands and still comes in anywhere from 5-10¢ cheaper.
