Good thing Consumerist is based outside New ... oh, wait.

That sucks.

Can you actually use it in cooking, or is it more as a condiment?

Seriously. I'm a print journalist myself, so I'm not completely blameless. But the broadcast folks seem to eschew everything we hold dear, including objectivity and attribution.

The KUTV story is extremely poorly-written and vague.

It's only got one source: the school's principal. What about someone from the federal agency responsible for enforcing the law? What about something as simple as quoting that law? What about an attorney who knows about this law?

And this: "They get their candy fix cheaper at the gas station on the corner or the nearby grocery store, which brings up new problems with student safety."

Wow, just wow. You'd think broadcast journalists held themselves to standards of ... you know, journalism.

I can't believe people haven't said it yet: don't use these online flower ordering places that use local florists to fulfill orders.

Search for a florist near where you want to send the flowers. Look for reviews to make sure it doesn't suck and that it's real. Order the flowers from there. They're probably the ones who would fulfill your order anyway.

The offenders are almost always these online flower companies that use local florists to fulfill orders. I'm surprised people haven't said it yet on this thread, but don't use those companies. Find a local florist and call them yourself.

If The Bank Hands You A Counterfeit Bill, You're Probably Stuck With It

Isn't it a federal crime to pay for something with counterfeit bills? And when you withdraw cash, isn't your bank essentially paying you?

In other words, shouldn't the bank be prosecuted to the full extent of federal law for giving this man a counterfeit bill?

That's not a valid comparison. You don't enjoy a burger based almost solely on its looks. With flowers, you do.
