Didn't there used to be a "Bad Consumer" tag for posts like this one?

Broadcasters, Labels, Want To Force FM Radio Into Your iStuff

They can pass a law to force an FM radio into my iPhone when they pass a law forcing non-crappy music into FM radio. I think that's fair.

How Many Comcast Techs Does It Take To Hook Up A TiVo?

A co-worker had the same issue getting his TiVo HD set up with Comcast - had four visits, and each time they arrived without a CableCard. He called executive customer service (by my recommendation) and the next visit that weekend finally produced a CableCard. I believe they gave him a month's credit for his trouble, as well.

Should I Have Given Back The iPad UPS Delivered Early?

No way. If you feel that strongly about respecting the release date, then take it and put it in the basement until the release date. You have the thing and it's safe; why would you take chances that something could happen to your $500+ package in the two extra trips the iPad's going to have to take in the UPS van?

AppShopper.com has been doing something similar for a long time (sends you an e-mail when the price of an app you're tracking changes) and works for any app in the App Store, not just games.

VIDEO: Does Putting A Runaway Prius Into Neutral Slow It Down?

Yeah, that's my problem with it too. In theory, they could test "just take your foot off the accelerator" and that would work under normal operating circumstances too. The point is something's going wrong either mechanically or (more likely) in software and it's something you're not necessarily going to be able to recreate at will.

I mean, this is like taking a video of closing a window on your PC with the X button and right click and choosing close, and saying that this should work even if the program has crashed. But that often isn't the case.

Slate Looks At What's Wrong With Airline Seating

I had an incident about a year ago where we were flying from LA to Boston with our then 18-month old, who was in her own seat in a rear facing car seat. (We'd tried her front facing first, but she kept kicking the seat in front of her so we switched her to rear facing to not subject the person sitting in front of her to six hours of that.)

About an hour into the flight, the guy in front of her, after repeatedly slamming his seat back into my daughter's car seat, to no avail, actually wakes me up to complain that he can't recline his seat. I politely explained that I understood that he wanted to recline, but I really couldn't do anything because A) my daughter was actually sleeping, which was better for everyone involved, and B) I'm not going to disconnect and reconnect her car seat in the middle of the flight because it's not safe. He groused for a minute or two, but he eventually turned around and dealt with it. I was starting to get concerned that he was going to escalate the situation, but thankfully he came to his senses.

The worst part? The middle seat in his row (in front of me) was open, so he could have just picked himself up and moved over two feet and reclined to his heart's content if it was that important to him, but instead he tried to pick a fight with me so that he wouldn't have to get up.

I think it depends on the store. If it's a local mom and pop type store, I'd probably say something. If it's a big chain, I'm taking the discount; they've probably made it back from me somewhere along the line anyway, and they have the staff and computers to keep those types of mistakes from happening in the first place.

@pecan 3.14159265 (now with star power):

Just because Apple doesn't sell Leopard by itself directly doesn't mean that you can't buy Leopard by itself:

In fact, Amazon's by go-to source for all things Apple because they sell the exact same products as Apple's stores but usually at a significant discount.

And you do need Leopard to upgrade to Snow Leopard. There's no way to directly upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard.
