I received my notice at 2.1GB. I normally use 1.7ish a month, but it really spiked when I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.01 (the 2.1 GBs were used in the first 7 days of my cycle). I've since turned off iCloud and a few other things and am now sitting at 3.5 GB used with 8 days left in my cycle, which is still abit high at 1.4GB in 14 days, but it's not as bad as the first week after upgrading.

Court Says It's Fine That Telecommunications Companies Collaborated With Federal Wiretaps

"Another ruling yesterday also decided that legal immunity was necessary for private companies helping the government gather intelligence, because if those telecoms thought they might be prosecuted, they'd be less likely to help with the whole spying thing."

Uh, that's the idea...

Irene Knocked My Neighbor's Tree On My Deck, But He's Run Away From His Foreclosure

Not true. I just went through this with my insurance about a year ago, when one of my trees fell on my neighbor's deck. The tree was diseased, but the condition only matters IF the affected party complains to the property owner.

For example, had my neighbor came to me and said, "Your tree looks diseased and I think it's unsafe," then my insurance would've had to cover his damage. However, since my neighbor never came to me with any concerns about the tree, the damages were paid by his insurance company.

Same thing here. If the OP hadn't complained to his neighbor, even if he were still living in the house, then it's still the OPs Insurance who has to pay.

The Hidden Fee That's Adding Thousands To Price Of Your New Car

Here's the deal: if you have a bad credit history, then the bank is going to want to charge you a higher interest rate to ensure they get the most money they can upfront, before you default on your debt. Since you're proven (via your credit history) to do this in the past (hence the low credit score), the bank must either protect itself by inflating the interest rate or not lending to you to begin with. I don't have an issue with this.

What I do have an issue with is the dealership paying the bank to approve a loan and then turning around and passing that cost on to the consumer without disclosure.

Agreed. I was cleared above Top Secret and trusted with the communications for the President and the White House (as part of WHCA), but I still got patted down when I went through airport security.

At least the idiot who reported the "incident" was also questioned and missed his/her flight. Maybe that will serve as a lesson.

Were Groupon's Super Bowl Ads Tasteless?

Listen, 100 Million people watched the Superbowl last night, and I'm quite sure you can find 10,000 people that found any single commercial aired last night to be offensive. Personally, I thought they were funny.

The reason KFC is more popular is the same reason you don't find many beef dishes on Chinese Menus: Chickens are easier to raise, cheaper, and you don't have to worry about left overs. That's why, traditionally, the chicken is preferred over beef in China.
