American Airlines, Jet Blue, Delta Seek To Delay Tarmac Imprisonment Rule
Big babies, they KNEW it was going to come to this and they did not even attempt to make contingency plans? Who is running this railroad folks?
Someone needs to step in, clean their houses and whip them into shape.
What a mess...
Benihana Won't Let Us Save This Starving Cat
+1 to parent.
Hear, Hear! I agree with this and this is the way that this situation should be handled.
This so-called "animal rescuer" should know this by now or they would not be posting it on here.
Amateur Photographer Banned From Coffee Shop For Creeping People Out
I'm spltting on this one down the middle.
First the photog has the right to take pictures of public places. In a private establishment like the coffee house, written permission is strongly recommended. Be nice, explain your subject matter to the owner/manager. Make sure that they understand the final destination of the images. Failing to do so may wind you up in court over copyright or IP.
BUT! There is are ethics that need to be followed, artist or no.
Permission (written preferably) needs to be obtained from the subject prior to the deed.
If they say no, move on. There are other opportunities.
Be nice about it. Don't act like a creep about it.
I've obtained permission at the local county airport to take pictures of aircraft out there. I agreed that I would not take images of the people departing the planes unless they so desire. I'm after the airplanes, engineering marvels they are, pure and simple. Me getting permission to do that might have consequences with the TSA, but the airport manager and I are on good terms, so if something does come up, my ass is covered.
Apple Has Given Me 5 Broken Hard Drives In 3 Months
There's something funny going on with that unit. Either the overall treatment of the drive, the usage of it, or a problem with power being fed to it.
Angry Man Stays Calm, Receives Shiny New Laptop From Dell
If this is the XPS 1530 series they are referring to, then Dell is all too painfully aware of them. The fab plant that built the GPUs didn't bond the chip assembly according to spec properly so the overall yields are about 25% of a given batch from that plant. That amounts to at least 2 million defective GPU chips in laptops, including HP, IBM and others.
I'm an owner of a XPS1530 and when I found out about the lemon chips, I called warranty support about it. The response was to keep running it until it gives out, then it will be replaced, no excuses. I checked my warranty listing for the system and discovered that they had put a rider on it, stipulating that there will be unlimited replacements of the system board based on GPU failures. I keep the little crapper continually backed up just in case it should happen. If it does, then I'm safe. I like it for the speed and performance, the looks of it ain't half bad either.
How To Take Care Of Your Dishwasher, Washing Machine, And Oven
Leaky door gaskets have always been the bane of front loaders since their inception.
The differences between the commercial front loaders and the residential models is like comparing GMC trucks and Cadillac.
The commercial units are built to run dependably on a 100% duty cycle, period. The accessories are few and what there are, don't get used that often. The controls are simplistic and marked in two or more languages. Put a coin in and press the green button. They are deployed in motels and commercial centers where simplicity and durability are key. Made of stainless and heavy gauge metals, they weigh oftentimes over 300lbs.
The residential units have more features than their top-loading counterparts. Some have a steam cleaning option, nifty for those delicate or lightly used items. A sneaker cleaner rack can be used too to suspend shoes in the water and not get tumbled. They are lighter in weight due to plastic hardware and panels. You try to run one of those all day long and it might quit on you.
Test Your Broadband Speeds For The FCC
Been there, done that, love the 3.5Mbps that I got with Stelera Wireless. ^.^
I'll bet a week's pay that right now, the ISP's are adjusting their servers to maximize their speeds through the FCC"s benchmark site, screwing the tests up badly. Sprint, Comcast tried that, got their hands caught in the cookie jar.
Ask The Consumerists: Would You Use A Credit Card With Your Photo On It?
Or a detective Clouseau. The Peter Sellers character, not the Steve Martin flop.

Sushi Restaurant That Served Illegal Whale Now Closed
*Shrugs* From past experience, they gained themselves a clean slate by closing a restaurant with a tainted name.
Now they can practically reopen the place under a whole new name, unscathed, no one knowing the difference.
