I haven't bought any new clothing in five years, with the exception of a new pair of tennis shoes and one pair of jeans two years ago, and my mother gave me money to buy a dress when I got married. Oh, but I have purchased plenty of clothing for the kids.

This is not just for loans. I got a notice a few weeks ago that my Citicard interest rate is going to 29.99% and my only option is to cancel my account. So I got a different credit card with a better rate. Bye bye Citibank!

@H3ion: Some couples like to sleep together. Like, snooze. All night long. In each other's arms. It's nice.

Comcast Installs Cable In Your Gutter, Across Your Driveway

I had cable installed in my new house in August (not Comcast). I waited 13 hours and finally lost my temper (an understatement) and they installed it in the dark at 9PM. Six months and a dozen requests later, they buried the cable January 5th.

This has been going on for decades, but now it's happening to so many products so fast that it's very obvious. My mother gave me the family recipe book she's used since the 60s. Several recipes say to use "a package of...." which doesn't quite work, since whatever it was came in 16 ounce packages back then and only ten ounce packages now.

Potatoes. Cornbread. Beans. I know people who survive on this diet all their lives, with garden vegetables in the summer. No need to eat pet food.

I took my daughter's passport photo with a regular disposable film camera. I made several shots, at slightly different distances to make sure the size would be right, had double copies developed in an hour, and cut out the ones that were the right size. No problems!

I'm sure I won't get one. I didn't get the last one, or were there two? I've never gotten one, because I don't earn enough to pay income tax.

Walmart Sponge Pricing Scheme Rewards Those Who Pay Attention

This happened to me twice this week. After buying toilet paper in packs of 24 rolls for years, I found a brand that is not available in anything but a four-pack, but the price per roll is much less for about the same quality. Easier to store, also.

At the grocery, I have my kids calculate price per ounce to sharpen their math skills (no calculator). My daughther was very proud to select two smaller boxes of pasta that was cheaper than buying the same thing in the large economy size.
