I've been following the blog since it was featured here. Been a pretty amazing thing to see. I'd imagine the next step once he finishes will be to maintain a healthy weight.

I just started doing a blog/diet myself at my site. I'm only in week 1 so far, a long way to go before I get results like this. I'm hopeful I can emulate the results.

Geek Squad Will Plug In Your PS3 For Only $130

I think you all missed the best part, if you look at the picture of the ad, it has an expiration date. They can't offer these amazing bargains forever.

And for people talking about how they're just charging for a service, sure they are, but it's how they take a small task and word it up to scare non-tech savvy people into paying a lot for very little.

That firmware mention probably scares a number of people. If this was a $50 setup, I doubt there would be much to talk about, but almost 50% of the console price is a bit much.

$500 maximum credit? Yeah, that's going to make me want to spend many thousands of dollars.

Pretty much any one of those items would max out the credit.

If you're going to do it anyway then sure, take the credit. I can't see a mad dash of people trying to get this done just for the credit though. Needs to be higher.

@SabreDC: Actually I think people still do care. The menu here in New Orleans still has all the items on there.

And just recently, like a few weeks ago, Wendy's brought back the $.99 Doublestack. They used to have that, then raised it to $1.50, then gone. Now it's back at .99

Guess they know the economy is tight and they want to keep us fat.

So what's left on the $1 menu other than a sweet tea?

Pretty soon the space that is the $1 menu is just going to read.

Scam usually is when you call to complain and ask for the credit, they mysteriously lose your appointment on your records. So not late if the appointment never existed.

Plus is your time wasted sitting at home all day during that long window really only worth $20 to you?

Where Things Stand In The Hi-Def DVD Format War

Raziya...

Sony makes a very good Blu-ray player that upscales. It's called a PS3. Might I also add, it does so very nicely.

That plus a Netflix subscription and I'm set. when Blu-ray is available for a movie I want, I order Blu-ray, when it's not, I do DVD and upscale it.

Really impressive to see the studio list. I had no idea the format war was tipping so strongly. I've just been upset and not being able to get Transformers.

Overall, studio support, and from a previous poster the number of hardware developers will win this battle for Blu-ray.

Advice For Those Who Want To Buy The Home They're Renting

This seems like a horrific deal.

First you pay extra on top of your rent for the down payment for 30 months, but during that time period you give up the benefit of renting by assuming all maintence costs.

Then you buy the house at the end for 110% of what the buyer paid if not more. The market is declining not increasing. So you'll likely be paying above market for the house.

This is a dream deal for a landlord. Get rent for 3 more years and not have to pay any maintenance on a house you still technically own. Then when you sit down years later to sell the house you get above market value, minus the $9000 you are already holding as deposit, for the house.

No thanks.
