Chowing Down At The Movies Can Add Up To Thousands Of Calories

12:45 AM on February 9, 2012

I work at a theater, (independent chain, 42 screens total) and I've been pushing for lower concession prices, and make more money from more sales, plus more people coming to our theater for cheaper concessions. I have been repeatedly told by the higher-ups that I'm a moron and have no clue how the business works. (They also refuse to get Coke 0 because "people prefer Diet Coke, or just get regular Coke anyway")

Things You Shouldn't Talk About During Interviews

5:00 PM on January 25, 2012

A few years ago i went on an interview, and i'm pretty sure i blew it because i complained about my previous manager.
For my interview yesterday, my theme was "Stay positive" - i didn't complain about my current job (which i despise), and when asked "tell me about a manager or boss you disliked" i made sure to point out specific things that they did that i was not appreciative of.

NTSB: You Shouldn't Be Using Your Cell Phone While Driving, Even Hands-Free

3:44 AM on December 14, 2011

I routinely talk on the phone while driving, especially during longer trips.
my friends and family know that if i suddenly stop talking mid sentence, it's because i'm paying attention to what is going on ahead of me. I will ask them to "hang on a second" if they're in the middle of talking and i need to pay closer attention to something ahead of me.
That being said, i only talk and drive during daylight hours, on the interstate, and never in stop-and-go traffic.
