What Peeves You Most When You Eat At A Restaurant?
Food that comes out of a microwave. If I wanted that I'd have let my 5 year old cook.
Consumers Union Urges CFPB To Regulate Prepaid Credit Cards More Closely
I received a rebate from the manufacturer of the furnace I bought a couple of months ago in the form of a prepaid CITI MasterCard. I read the fine print that came with it (not an easy task) and decided to go out and spend the whole damn thing all at once, bought a fridge, to avoid having the value of the card used up with fees.
The real fun was calling CITI and getting them to officially kill the card. There is no way I wanted any sort of liability for a card I did not knowingly sign up for. CITI's contact number listed on the card took me into a telephone tree that wouldn't let me get to a live person or cancel the card. I ended up having to call the lost/stolen card number to get a person and they forwarded me to the cancel the card department. Then of course the rep on the other end of the phone couldn't hear anything clearly after he got my card number and the reason for the call, to kill the account. At one point he even went all silent, I suspect, in the hope that I would assume the call was dropped and hang up. Eventually he confirmed the account closed, but who knows. Fun, fun, fun.
If I discover any other companies offering rebates on cards, I will avoid buying their product. It seems to be a lot of work.
Survey: Fuel Economy The Leading Consideration In Picking A Car
I agree... smart cars made sense when they first came to North America (Canada had them) and were available only with diesel engines. Gasoline Smart cars don't cut it.
Also, although fuel economy may be the first criteria that does not mean safety, comfort, good design are not considered at all.
What The Facebook IPO Could Mean To Consumers
This is the time to look everywhere else in the market for good deals on solid companies. With the hype and hysteria around the FB IPO steer clear of it.
Special K Chocolatey Delight Has More Calories Than Cocoa Puffs
Again, classic example of the changes made to the food available to North Americans since the declaration that fat is bad for us, fat replaced by sugar to keep food palatable.
Get back to the foods (ingredients) our grandparents grew up with and the host of health problems currently approaching pandemic proportions (Type II diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver, cancer, etc.) can be reversed.

very good, thank you.
Woman Sues Southwest To Clarify "Customers Of Size" Policy
How about airports create a room with a standard airline seat setup with sensor boards on both sides and simply measure the pressure on the boards. The boards would need to be the boundaries of that seat space. If over a established threshold, then you are "configured such that a second seat purchase is required". Then issue the individual a card identifying that they do or do not need the second standard seat.
Of course the thin folks of the world would not need to carry the card, but could anyway. Those often questioned about being "over sized" could get the card prior to showing up at the check in and thereby avoid the randomness of the current system.
LG Suggests I Buy Extended Warranty For Problem Warranty Doesn't Cover
I had a similar beef with a range I bought from Sears. The poor positioning of all the buttons above one of the gas burners. Not only did the buttons deform and discolour from the heat but the deformation prevented them from being pressed.
When I asked the company that made the range, Frigidaire, their rep told me to just not use that burner. I asked him if I could get a 25% refund as a result of his advice. Of course no refund. This I thought was really funny since at the time I also worked for Frigidaire. I wondered, if they treat their employees this way it must really suck to just be a customer.
Fortunately, I was able to score a huge handful of the buttons from the warehouse. They were destined for the dumpster and it pays to be nice to the warehouse folks... Anyway, I replaced them yearly and recycled the range last year to be replaced with a range I hope Frigidaire didn't make (but I bet they did).
Rogue Garbage Truck Kidnaps My Trash, Demands Ransom
If they insist on billing you or go further and send you to collections you may have to have them charged with theft. I would dearly like to hear how this one turns out.
