The TSA Is All Worried About Surgically Implanted Bombs
I'm greatly looking forward to the day when technology can't keep up with hype and fear. Then we can finally begin to move toward an El-Al style focused, intelligence-based security process. When there's no more technology to rely on then all the political correctness will finally need to be addressed.

FDA To Farmers: Enough Already With All The Antibiotics
Thanks, Chris, for calling attention to this story. I'm a physician and this has been a thorn in many doctors' sides for quite some time.
This issue has actually been pending in front of congress for a while, sponsored by Louise Slaughter, a congresswoman and microbiologist. It's called the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act, or PAMTA.
The Agriculture industry is convinced that widespread use of antibiotics as food promoters results in increased yields and therefore lower prices. The "Big Ag" lobby has relentlessly opposed curtailing use, even though the data are scant that it makes a big difference.

Texas Woman's House Demolished By Mistake
The plans have been available in the planning office for the past nine month, on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.
Doesn't she know to lie down in the mud in the path of a bulldozer if she wants to prevent her house from being knocked down?
Jansen Medical Does Not Appreciate You Having Questions, Goodbye
Reading those Yahoo reviews posted above, I have no doubt that this is a legimate exchange. They are quite consistent.
Jansen Medical Does Not Appreciate You Having Questions, Goodbye
I'm sure that the response from the company will be that they're "taking this very seriously."
Can we just add the tag to the post now, to save time?
United: Did We Say $25 For The Second Bag? How About $50.
I still don't understand what the business model is for this. Are they trying to generate revenue from the (small) percentage of travelers who are willing to bring an extra bag and pay $50? Or, is this to discourage people from bringing extra bags, therefore reducing the weight of the plane and saving on fuel costs? Either way, I can't imagine the benefits are worth the negative publicity. Better to just raise ticket prices by a few bucks.

Particle Physicist Discovers Fastest Way For Airlines To Board Passengers
The problem with this system is that it means that you're boarding separately from anyone that you're traveling with. Travelers will never go for that. This could conceivably work for solo business travelers, but families won't want to be split up for boarding, however silly it may be.
