Either I'm really old now or just been in IT too long, but I think it's amazing that a 500GB hard drive is now $40. I remember paying $80-100 for a 40GB and thinking that was boat loads of storage.

New Flu Vaccine Could End Shortages

Well if they want to get technical, these proposed vaccines use animal cells. If they have a problem with that, perhaps they should stop eating vegatables that were fertilized with the cells from animal droppings.

Well if the house is $1000, I'm pretty sure they can pay it all at once. So if you take my mortgage for instance, the property taxes would have to be more than $8400 a year total to be more than the mortgage itself. I can't imagine the taxes being that high.

Subway Says Your Sandwich Is "Cheating"

THIS 1000x and more.

The reason I keep going back to the Subway I frequent is because the staff is so nice, but also because they don't have a problem with wanting things a little different on your sandwich. If I want a thin stripe of mayo they make sure to spend the extra couple seconds it takes to do so, instead of a thick swipe. If I want a little extra lettuce they have no issues either. They also remember my usual subs and chat with me while they make them.

Good customer service, even if you have to give a little more, makes for long term profits in the end. Losing a long term customer is worse for you than saving in the short term.

Lenovo Customer Service Is Incapable Of Sending Me The Right Battery

Yeah, I was wondering why you got someone in the Phillipines. We use that number too for support, but my wife's laptop (which is personal support) got serviced by them too. I got the support number for my wife's laptop off of their site and it was an American call center (The guy had a southern drawl, kind of hard to replicate in the Phillipines!).

Her battery issue was called in around 4:30pm and a battery was shipped to us at 8am the next morning, and that again was NOT business support.
