PNC should not be on this list. With the hold times they put on checks, closing at 4pm, and same day deposit cut off time of 2pm they should be on the list of the worst banks to bank with.
Huntington is missing from this list. They are open 7 days a week, till 7pm M-F, and same day transaction cut off time of 6pm. Now that is a consumer friendly bank. I also forgot about the free 24 hour overdraft.

I order off the kids menu all the time at a restaurant/bar that I go to. I find the kids meals make for a good snack when I'm at the bar at 4 for happy hour, had my lunch at 12 but won't be having dinner until 8. I usually get the grilled cheese too.

Adding to the problem is Bank of America underwriters are overworked so much they don't get to your file until the last minute and they have checklists of things to look for and verify. It's not very consumer friendly, but at least they are verifying things now. Just wish they would do it a few days before closing.

In Ohio it is a separate license to originate mortgages and sell real estate. That is the first thing California needs to change.
Also in Ohio, you have to report any felony offenses you plead guilty to or were found guilty of to the Dept. of Real Estate but it does not necessarily mean you will lose your license. If you don't report the felony and they find out about it your license is automatically gone with very little chance of getting it back.

First off, it's not MBNA anymore. Secondly, I worked at MBNA and if you could not verify certain security info on your account, we would freeze your account, cancel the existing cards and send new ones.

From the banks perspective they have some doofus using a card outside of its normal area, and now the doofus is on the phone and probably cant or wont verify security info. serves him right.

As a landlord I no longer accept personal checks. People write bad checks way too often and I get stuck with the fee's. You can try and charge a tenant the returned check fee, but they know you are not going to kick them out over $39 so they never pay it.
I now only accept bank checks, cashier checks, or money orders. I also do not give out individual receipts either. I run everything through quickbooks. Rent is due by the 1st, late fee after the 5th, on the 6th a late notice goes out on an invoice letting them know if not paid by the 15th they will received a 3 day notice. On the 16th 3 day notices go out, invoices for the next months rent and a statement showing any payments received. At first tenants don't like it, but once they understand it they come around.
