Police Say Texas Teens Shot Blow Darts At Fellow Walmart Shoppers

Two Texas 18-year-old men have been accused of treating Walmart customers like some kind of animal to be hunted. Police say the twosome blew darts at shoppers, including an elderly woman on a motorized scooter and a 10-year-old boy.

One of the victims, a 72-year-old woman, told KHOU she was on her way toward the doors on her motorized scooter when a dart with a four-inch metal tip hit her in the shoulder.

“I turned around and it was hanging out right there,” she told the news station. She brought the dart to Walmart security after loading her groceries, and said she was told that another person had been shot as well.

Five minutes after her, a 10-year-old boy reported being struck as well. His fellow victim says she thinks he was hit in the elbow and was bleeding.

Walmart security video led police to the suspects, both 18. One of their fathers said his son was just driving through the parking lot and had no idea his friend was going to use the blow dart gun. Both deny owning it and using it.

Both men are now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
