Business Owner Admits Peddling Fake Urine, Other Products Online To Help People Thwart Drug Tests

Not so lucky now.

Not so lucky now.

The United States Government takes pee very seriously, it seems, especially when many government agencies rely on urine to screen federal employees for drugs. An Ohio man pleaded guilty in federal court this week, admitting he sold products intended to help people pass those employment drug urine tests.

Selling products designed to flush out drugs or replicate urine like “Never Fail a Urine Drug Test,” “Urine Luck” and “Magnum Unisex Synthetic Urine” as part of an online business called ACS Herbal Tea, the man admitted to peddling the products for the last eight years, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Shilling products to skirt such tests goes against regulations by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and one count of misbranding drugs into interstate commerce, after undercover agents bought some of his products in the last few years as part of an investigation into the company.

The charge of misbranding drugs comes from two products “Eliminator Detox Carbo Drink” and “Quick Flush Herbal Detox Pills,” as the government considers those products to be drugs and they weren’t identified as such on labels or in ads, said prosecutors.

His attorney told the judge upon entering the guilty plea that the man now realizes his products “are not as harmless as he thought.” He’s now facing up to six years in prison, a fine of $350,000 or both.
