If at first you don’t succeed – or the car isn’t actually fixed – then re-recall the vehicles. That’s Ford’s stance in one of the five recalls, totaling more than 202,000 vehicles, the company issued Tuesday.

Ford announced the five North American recalls covering 202,241 vehicles for various reasons including an incorrect repair from a previous recall, airbag deployment issues and fuel lines that are improperly routed.

The first recall involves 38,645 model year 2005 to 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles that many have been improperly repaired during a 2013 recall.

An initial recall of the vehicles occurred because severe corrosion of the lower intermediate shaft can cause the upper intermediate shaft to collapse and the steering column lower bearing to separate. As a result of the initial recall, the vehicles may have been improperly repaired, which could result in a loss of steering.

Officials with Ford say they are aware of one accident and no injuries related to the issue. Dealers will inspect and replace the steering shaft as needed.

The second recall involves 27,597 model year 2014 Ford Transit Connect vehicles that may have incorrect fuel and vapor line routing.

According to Ford, if the lines are routed incorrectly, they may rub together, possibly causing a leak in the rule line over time, which could create a fire hazard.

Ford is unaware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to the issue. Dealers will inspect the lines and reroute or replace the line if necessary.

The company’s third recall involves 960 model year 2014 Ford F-150 trucks for an issue that may cause the vehicle’s brake lights to delay illumination or not illuminate at all.

According to Ford, an incorrect adjustment of the brake pedal switch position may lead to consumers needing to use additional pressure to disengage the cruise control system. For that reason, Ford is advising customers not to use cruise control until the vehicle has been repaired.

Ford is unaware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. Dealers will remove and reinstall the brake pedal position switch.

In addition to brake issues, the 2014 Ford F-150, along with the 2014 Flex, has been recalled for airbag deployment issues.

The recall, which involves 134,947 vehicles, concerns seat occupant classification sensing issues that could result in the non-deployment of the passenger airbag in certain frontal crashes, if an adult is in the passenger seat.

Officials with Ford say they are unaware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. Dealers will widen the gap between the manual seat frame and the seat track assembly, then calibrate the seat occupant classification system.

Ford’s final recall involves 92 model year 2015 Transit vehicles that may have issues with the bracket that holds the fuel filter to the frame.

The fuel filter may become detached over time, resulting in a knocking sound or an engine stall unexpectedly due to fuel starvation, Ford reports.

Officials with Ford are unaware of accidents or injuries related to the fuel filter issue. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and reinforce the underbody structure.
