Police Arrest Woman Who Called 9-1-1 Six Times To Complain About Bar Full Of Drunk People

There is a certain expectation when you enter a certain kind of establishment that serves alcohol: People will be drinking alochol. Shocking, we know. Especially for one woman who allegedly called 9-1-1 six times to complain about people consuming booze at a bar and demanding that cops come and arrest everyone inside the joint. For drinking.

Once again, because 9-1-1 is not a complaint hotline for whatever is currently annoying you, police weren’t too pleased with the Fort Lauderdale woman who reportedly dialed up the emergency line, alerting officials to the fact that patrons were intoxicated, says Local10.com.

She asked that police arrest everyone inside, ostensibly for the non-existent crime of adults of legal age consuming alcoholic beverages. But she claims she simply called 9-1-1 because she didn’t want anyone driving drunk.

Good intentions or no, she’s been charged with misusing the emergency system and possession of hydrocodone.

“I have a feeling that the mixture between [the bar] and the hydrocodone probably led to count two, the calling of the 911,” said the judge on her case, warning the woman to stay away from that bar and not to drink.

Just in case you need a reminder: Don’t call 9-1-1 if the sky is blue, if people around you are breathing air or if you suddenly discover the world is round. Sounds obvious, but you never know.

I’m confused. Does this mean I should call 9-1-1 when the sky is gray? That’s been happening a lot around here lately, and I don’t like it. Would calling 9-1-1 help?
