The next time someone tells you to just go to hell, be like, “Okay, I will… to HELsinki, that is!” It’ll be hilarious and it’s actually a real possibility: Finnair Flight 666 is heading to HEL (sic, sort of?) today, just like it does every day in a blatant flaunting of nonchalance regarding any demonic curses lurking out there. And also it’s Friday the 13th.

Of course, this only matters if you’re superstitious, which most passengers aboard flight AY666 to Helsinki don’t appear to be — the flight was nearly full today.

“It has been quite a joke among the pilots,” the pilot who flew the Airbus A320 from Copenhagen to Helsinki told the Associated Press. “I’m not a superstitious man. It’s only a coincidence for me.”

Other airlines get the willies when it comes to the number 13, considered bad luck by people around the world: Scandinavian Airlines doesn’t even have a row 13 on its planes. If that doesn’t say serious, I don’t know what does.

At least it sounds like they had a nice flight with the very comforting pilot.

“It’s hopefully smooth skies,” the pilot said before takeoff. “And if there’s some passenger who is anxious about this 666 our cabin crew is always happy to help them.”

Flight attendants come equipped to allay fears connected to the number of the beast? Amazing.
