McDonald’s Confirms It Wasn’t Just Messing With Us: “Mighty Wings” Debuting Nationwide Sept. 9

If there’s one news trend we will follow from its first whispered breaths of life, it’s fast food rumors. Because talking about what could be is way more fun than actually eating what’s on the menu, right? To wit: McDonald’s oft-buzzed about Mighty Wings? We’ve been on the case since January, and now they’re really gonna be a thing, it seems.

And not just in a few piddly test markets while the rest of us stamp our feet angrily in frustration over not living in Somewhere, Some State, no siree: BurgerBusiness.com says that although it was one Missouri franchisee who let the wings fly out of the bag with a Facebook post gushing about the new product, McDonald’s has confirmed a nationwide roll-out starting Sept. 9.

The Missouri location had reportedly posted about the wings before deleting it later: “Some exciting things headed our way this fall! Pralines and Crème McFlurry, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Pumpkin Pies return, a Southwest Premium McWrap and MIGHTY WINGS!!!”

The bone-in wings will be sold in 3-, 5-, and 10-piece offerings starting at $2.99 and will be available in nine sauces including Chipotle Barbeque Sauce, Creamy Ranch Sauce, Honey Mustard Sauce, Hot Mustard Sauce, Spicy Buffalo Sauce, Sweet Chili Sauce, Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce, Honey and Tangy Barbeque Sauce.

As for those other things the franchisee mentioned, McDonald’s is staying mum. Continue spinning, wheel of fast food speculation!
