Time Warner Cable, CBS Will Briefly Cease Fire To Air NYC Political Debates

If you’re a Time Warner Cable customer in NYC, don’t get all happy if you turn on CBS tonight and see actual TV on your screen, as it won’t last long. The cable company and the broadcaster have called a brief truce so that tonight’s NYC political debate can be seen on the local CBS affiliate.

According to the NY Daily News, WCBS will only be available to Time Warner Cable customers starting at 7 p.m. for the short time during which tonight’s debate airs. After the political bickering ends, the bickering between the two media giants will resume.

Should the blackout continue into next week, WCBS will briefly come back to life for the Aug. 28 Republican mayoral debate. There is also a Sept. 23 debate scheduled, but with college and football season about to start, we’re guessing that the two parties will find a way to kiss and make up before then… But don’t quote us on that.
