Texas Walmart Evacuated After Shoppers Release Mysterious Spray Into Air

Imagine you’re enjoying a peaceful Sunday night of shopping at Walmart when suddenly a pair of doofuses (doofi?) choose to unleash some sort of spray that causes folks in the store to start choking and wheezing. Next thing you know, you’re being rushed out of the building with more than 100 other customers.

That’s exactly what happened last night at a Houston-area Walmart, where shoppers say two men started releasing an unidentified chemical spray in the store.

KHOU-TV reports that customers complained of burning throats and eyes, along with breathing difficulties.

“I saw people choking,” recalls one customer. “I heard somebody was mixing chemicals in there and throwing it in the air.”

Authorities evacuated the store and at least four people were sent to the hospital to be checked out.

Harris County Sheriff investigators describe the two suspects as between 18 and 25 years old. They fled the scene but deputies are looking at security footage in an attempt to identify them.

“HazMat came on scene and they went inside and cleared the building,” a rep for Sheriff’s Office tells KTRK-TV. “They checked the air quality and reported the air quality had returned back to good.”
