E. Coli-Laden Beef Traced To Bi-Lo And Winn-Dixie Stores

Last week, we shared the massive 25-ton ground beef recall out of the National Beef Packing Company in Kansas. There haven’t been any illnesses reported yet: the germs were found during routine testing. Still, it’s good to know which retailers that contaminated meat went to, in case you happen to have picked some up.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture distributed that information after our post went up on Friday.

Bi-Lo:Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee

Super Bi-Lo:North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee

Winn-Dixie: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi

If you happen to have one of these packages, or aren’t sure, you can call National Beef at 1-866-761-9472 or visit their website.

You should always use safe raw meat handling practices, and cook burgers to an inside temperature of 160.
