In a recent mailing that they sent out to customers, Bed, Bath and Beyond promoted two things. They’re pushing Nautica-brand bedding sets, and also their ever-present 20% off one item coupons. The catch, of course, is that you can’t use the coupon on any of the Nautica items.
The e-mail never says that you can, of course. The paired “Buy Nautica stuff!” and “Here is a coupon you can’t use on Nautica stuff” promos are bound to set someone up for disappointment, though.
“This is egregious flagrant misleading advertising and should be admonished,” grumbles reader Frank before putting his thesaurus back on the shelf.
