According to WNCT-TV, the incident began around noon in the parking lot law firm, where a man carrying a shotgun (original reports described it as a rifle) and wearing a bulletproof vest shot another man who had been hiding behind a parked car.

The shooter then moved on to the Walmart, where it’s believed he shot three people outside of the store. One victim was described as “injured but okay.” The condition of the others is currently unknown.

Police arrived on the scene and were able to surround him. The man reportedly turned his gun the officers, at which point they reportedly opened fire. Witnesses tell reporters that the man received medical attention. His condition is unknown, but police say he has been taken into custody.

Walmart HQ confirmed to WNCT-TV that it believes all the shootings occurred in the parking lot of the Walmart.
