Six Flags Debuts Your Next Nightmare In Form Of 40-Story Open-Air Swing Ride

I can just feel my internal organs recoiling up into themselves and trying to burrow deeper into my body at the sight of Six Flags’ new 40-story open air swing ride. See the soaring tower, the swings flying out from the center of the pole like chariots of fear borne on the demon wind. It’s called the Texas SkyScreamer, and appropriately so.

MSN has the details and the cringeworthy video of the new star of my darkest dreams at Six Flags Over Texas: At 400 feet tall, it’s the tallest terror– er, tower swing ride in the entire world. It spins riders in a 124-foot circle at speeds of up to 35 mph, their mooring on this world a simple set of chains.

Those who brave the blustery heights will have a bird’s-eye view of Fort Worth, at least, as well as a new view of their own mortality.

But seriously, if anyone goes on this ride and doesn’t pass out in sheer, unmitigated fear, let us know. We know you adrenaline junkies are out there.
