FitBit Wants Device I Found Back, Will Return It To Owner

Now available at Best Buy.

Return to owner.

We’ve covered the FitBit, a tiny movement tracker that syncs to computers and smartphones, on the site in the past, noting the company’s generous replacement policy. Fitbits have been dunked and lost, and the company still replaced them. But we’ve never heard of anything quite like what David heard back when he turned in a FitBit that he found.

Hi, for the once-in-a-blue-moon department, I’d like to say something good about a company:
I found a fitbit on the ground in my neighborhood and figured the owner would like it back. I emailed fitbit to ask if there was anything they could do about it, and they immediately sent me a fedex label to ship it back to them so they could return it to the owner (see their email below). I was impressed!

Hi David,

We appreciate your good will about the Tracker that you found.

We would like to email you a FedEx shipping label so that we may reunite the Fitbit tracker to its original owner.

Could you please let us know what your shipping address and phone number is so that we may email a prepaid shipping label to you?

Thank you for your time and kindness.

Sincerely,
[redacted] and the Fitbit Team
