UPDATE: Shortly before midnight ET on Friday, the BofA Twitter account finally provided some good news.

In a series of five Tweets on the @BofA_Help account, the company wrote:

Sorry to all of our customers for the inconvenience today. Our mobile and online banking platforms are coming back up. We will continue to monitor throughout the night to make sure you get the service you expect from us and that you deserve. Please let us know if you experience any problems or tweet us @BofA_Help or visit any of our banking centers, so that we can make it right for you.

For the last few hours, Bank of America customers across the country have been complaining about being unable to access their accounts online or through the bank’s mobile app.

“We’re aware of the online banking issue and addressing as quickly as possible,” a company rep tells the AP. We’re also working closely with our customers to help alleviate any concerns.”

The @BofA_Help Twitter account has spent its Friday responding to upset and concerned customers.

It first confirmed the issue with a Tweet stating, “We’re experiencing some technical issues and we are working to resolve as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

We don’t know if this has disrupted ATM access or in-bank access to customer accounts.
