We’ve heard plenty of stories of people encountering grody, nasty and unsavory items in their fast food. Yes, that’s true. But honestly, everyone? Cross our hearts and swear to die, stick a needle in our eyes, the story of a man in England finding what appears to be a chicken brain in his KFC is one of the absolutely most disgusting, stomach-turning things we have ever had the misfortune to see.
Let’s just get this straight right now: If you click on the source link that’s about to be placed in this post, you WILL see the chicken brain thing. It won’t leave your memory and your gut might threaten to revolt. So we’re warning you, because we love you that much. Got it? Gird your gag reflexes.
According to The Sun, the 19-year-old student picked up a Gladiator Box Meal over in the United Kingdom to share with his friend, which included two chicken pieces. If you clicked on that link then you know what it looked like when he bit into one piece of chicken. Here’s his take on the unexpected organ:
“I have a habit of picking the chicken off the bone with my fingers and as I pulled the second piece apart, I saw this horrible wrinkled foreign body.
“I threw it down onto my tray immediately. It looked like a brain. I suddenly felt grim and really sick.
“I couldn’t bring myself to pick the lump up so I went to the serving counter to complain.
“It was about 1pm and pretty hectic in the restaurant and as it was so busy none of the staff helped me.”
Being a savvy consumer, the man took a picture of the offensive thing and complained online, saying he couldn’t bear to pick up the piece of chicken afterward. KFC has apologized and said that under further analyzing of the photo, it might be a chicken kidney and not a brain. But still, yuck times infinity.
The student says he’s been offered vouchers for food from KFC but yeah, who wants to eat somewhere again after an experience like that? He says he’ll just eat chicken at home from now on.
A spokesman called the bit of nasty “unsightly” and said:
“We always try to ensure the highest standards in all of our restaurants. Although we haven’t received the product, it appears from a photograph that unfortunately on this occasion a kidney, and not a brain as claimed, was not removed in the preparation process. We’re very sorry about [the man's] experience and while there was no health risk, we agree it was unsightly.”
Again, we’ve seen what we call “Unacceptable Food.” This might just be unacceptable, strike the food part. The oddest thing about this story is that we’ve heard something almost exactly like it, back in 2010, complete with guy in the UK, chicken brain/chicken kidney debate, and an apologetic KFC. STOP FEEDING US WEIRD THINGS, KFC. Just stop it.
