Sam’s Club Recalls Smoked Salmon Sold In 42 States

With year-end parties still to come, there will probably be some of you munching on Smoked Salmon in the next few days. If that salmon was purchased at Sam’s Club, you might want to keep reading.

Walmart says some of the smoked salmon produced by Multiexport Foods, Inc of Miami, FL, has to potential for being tainted with Listeria monocytogenes, which is not something you should be consuming at any time of year, lest you feel like suffering through bouts of high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

The 12-oz Twin pack and 1.25-lb pack, under the “Paramount Reserve” brand were distributed between Nov. 12 to Dec. 21 and could have gone to Sam’s Clubs in any of the following states and Peurto Rico–

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

Walmart claims there are no confirmed illnesses tied to the recall, which was initiated after a routine lab test on an undistributed shipment turned up positive for the bacteria.
