Judge Tells Man He Can’t Wiggle Out Of $28K Hustler Club Tab Just Because He Was Drunk

Listen, plenty of people have made mistakes while under the influence of alcohol. But booze does not an excuse make, said a judge to man who sued Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club for fraudulent billing over a $28,000 tab he racked up while he was drunk. It’s not the club’s job to protect you from yourself, ruled the judge.

In the lawsuit the man claimed he was fraudulently billed in 2011, after discovering $28,109.60 in charges he incurred at the Hustler Club. He said he was served too many drinks there,  leaving him “no longer capable of conducting financial transactions,” reports the New York Daily News.

He wanted a full refund for that lost night, but a judge wasn’t having it.

“There is no duty upon (Hustler Club) to protect plaintiff from the results of his (voluntary) intoxication,” the judge wrote in his decision. In other words — he should’ve checked himself before he wrecked himself.

The judge also dismissed another legal claim from the man who said the club didn’t have the proper liquor license and alleged that he’d been plied with cocaine during the night in question.

This isn’t the first time a customer at the Hustler Club has walked away with more than they  bargained for — another man sued the joint in 2010 claiming he’d been charged upwards of $26,000 when all he wanted was a $300 lap dance. That lawsuit was settled last year.
