Taco Bell, Where The List Of Things They Won’t Put In A Tortilla Is Dwindling Quickly

With some upcoming new menu items, Taco Bell’s curiously Australian President Greg Creed appears to have just turned to his team and said, “Let’s put some stuff that has no business being wrapped in a tortilla and see if people will buy it.”

From AdAge’s write-up about Taco Bell’s new snack offerings:

[I]n the coming weeks, Taco Bell will also announce some savory snack foods in the form of wraps. Dubbed “loaded grillers,” the savory snacks will essentially be nachos, chicken or a loaded baked potato, all wrapped in a tortilla. Taco Bell by early next year will launch a “happier hour” TV campaign touting its new snacks.

We’ve always thought of nachos and baked potatoes as dishes that didn’t need to be contained within another food item. We’ve never looked at a plate of nachos or a baked potato and contemplated what they would taste like placed on a hot dog bun or a hoagie roll, or dipped in batter and deep-fried. But perhaps that is merely a shortcoming of our culinary imaginations.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that Taco Bell won’t sell a ton of whatever these are supposed to be.

But at some point, the snake will begin eating its own tail, and Taco Bell will start wrapping burritos in strips of chicken and then wrapping the whole thing in lettuce, thus rending a hole in the fabric of existence, allowing the lords of Oblivion to bring forth their unholy horde. But that’s just a guess.
