Detroit To Lose Again When Everyone Else Gets Free World Series Taco Bell Tacos

A lack of bells for Detroit.

With the Phillies nowhere near the baseball postseason, the only reason I’ve been watching the World Series is to add to my Ken Rosenthal bow tie Pinterest page and to see which player would be the first to steal a base and thereby win free Taco Bell tacos for the entire nation.

Well, it finally happened last night when San Francisco Giants outfielder Angel Pagan swiped a base in the eighth inning, en route to his team’s Game 2 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

While some people in Detroit may not exactly feel good about chowing down on this free Doritos Locos Taco — especially if the Tigers don’t turn things around this weekend — even Detroit residents who want the gratis grub may have to travel, as there are only a handful of Taco Bells in the entire Detroit area.

In fact, a search for Detroit Bells on the company’s website only turns up three locations, one of which is actually in Dearborn.

Meanwhile, a search for Taco Bells in San Francisco turns up 10 with actual San Francisco addresses.

Granted, even though both cities have about the same population, San Francisco’s population is three times as densely packed as Detroit’s, and it has a thriving tourism industry, so it’s little surprise that Detroit has so many fewer Taco Bells.

On the bright side, it the Tigers lose the Series, at least most Detroit residents won’t spend next Tuesday afternoon being reminded of their team’s defeat.

For those that do want their free Dorito Locos Taco, they’ll be handed out next Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 2-6 p.m.
