This Jug Of 20-Year-Old, Michael Jordan-Branded McDonald’s BBQ Sauce Can Be Yours For $9,995

Ready to McDunk your nuggets?

Have a spare $10,000 lying around the house and a hankering for a gallon of very rare fast food barbecue sauce? Then do we have the eBay listing for you.

Back in 1992, McDonald’s briefly sold a burger called the McJordan, named after famed underwear model and minor league baseball player Michael Jordan. It was a cheeseburger that also had bacon, onion, and pickles and a special McJordan BBQ sauce.

Apparently, like a fine wine, that sauce is now peaking in flavor, and some seller is offering a gallon of the stuff on eBay for the reasonable price of $9,995.

From the listing:

“A once in a lifetime chance to own the rarest of rare Michael Jordan and McDonald’s collectible! The only one left on Earth?? This gallon of McJordan BBQ sauce is from 1992 when McDonald’s sold McJordan Burgers as a promotional menu item.

The McJordan is a quarter-pound hamburger with smoked bacon, cheese, McJordan barbeque sauce, onions, mustard and pickles. All of Michael Jordan’s “favorite ingredients”. The burger was sold only in limited markets in the United States.

Michael Jordan was the first person to have a McDonald’s sandwich as a namesake. Jordan appeared in television spots to promote the burger.

It is in new condition and has never been opened.

Don’t miss this opportunity to own this incredibly rare piece of memorabilia!”

But before you start telling your kids that they will have to put off that surgery for a few years in order to afford this rare goo, Yahoo’s Ball Don’t Lie blog points out:

The ingredients on the label listed on eBay are the same ingredients that go into the McDonald’s barbecue sauce currently available at millions of locations, worldwide. The only difference is that this sauce comes in a gallon-sized bottle with Michael Jordan’s last name on it…

So if anyone wants some McJordan sauce, I seem to have several leftover little plastic tubs of the stuff sitting in my kitchen drawer next to the duck sauce packets from the Chinese food place.
