Man Prompts JetBlue Flight To Make Emergency Landing Because Groping Pregnant Women Isn’t Okay

There’s the person you don’t want to be seated next to on a flight (snores, won’t share the arm rest, drools on your arm) and then there’s the passenger no one wants to even be on the same plane with. Federal prosecutors say a man made enough people uncomfortable on a JetBlue flight from New York to Los Angeles, including a pregnant woman he allegedly groped, that the plane made an emergency landing in Denver.

Officials say the 32-year-old man was intoxicated to the point where he was saying things to passengers that didn’t make sense, and then groped a pregnant woman while he waited in line for the bathroom. That would top anyone’s list of unsavory airplane characters, no?

Things got even worse, say authorities, after the man refused a flight attendant’s request that he remain seated. An FBI agent on the flight intervened and sat next to the man until the plane landed.

The unruly passenger has been charged with interfering with the duties of a flight crew and flight attendant.

As many horror stories as we’ve heard about how airlines have treated customers, shouldn’t said customers rise to the occasion and at least treat their fellow passengers well? That’s rhetorical, of course.
