Our hosting provider is having significant difficulty delivering password reset emails to our users. Today, they made a change that resulted in a large amount of backlogged emails being sent out to users who had requested a password reset in the past two weeks. If you received such an email and are concerned or would like assistance, please email support@consumerist.com and our internal team will assist you.

I was wondering what that was about. Thanks for the heads up!
WOO HOO, I finally have reset my password and have a voice again.
WELCOME BACK
Ha ha, I had already reset my password, but I thought you were still having problems, so I reset it again. Oh well, no harm done.
Same here. I figured better safe than sorry.
It would REALLY help if the password reset email didn’t read like a Nigerian prince wrote it, too. My email flagged it as spam based on that alone.
Whew! Happy to know that it’s your issue because I was kind of paranoid thinking that someone was messing with me!
I have to thank ‘support’ for helping me with this. Now THAT’S customer service the way it should be.
What they did seemed to work! My request is no longer backlogged and was able to reset.
I got the email and it was dated July 27. Electronic snale mail?
Thanks for posting the explanation. I was weirding out.
Yes, that e-mail seemed very suspicious. (I saw it before reading this thread.) I received the message today, and it was dated July 28. Had trouble logging in to the site, but I wasn’t about to go back to the e-mail and click on the link to re-set the password.
Password is working just fine now, with no re-setting or further action on my part.
Sounds like Consumerist needs to call customer service for their hosting provider. If that fails than an EECB might do the trick! /s
Agreed. This has not been a smooth or quick transition/upgrade. if nothing else all the issues should be a definite and sizable negotiating point at renewal time!
I was frustrated trying to reset my password too until I clicked on forgot password instead. Got that email right away and I was back in business.
Sounds like Consumerist in [redacted] is taking this very seriously.
HaHa. I made a new identity when all of that craziness was going on. NO ONE’s going to stop this golden train of comments whizzing from my keyboard!
I still can’t log in.
Already emailed your support team! Now that I know what the deal is, I feel much better. My iPhone’s IP address is still blacklisted though.
I heart the cartoon Harvey Balls
OMG. I’ve been having posting withdraw! I think I’ve received 9 emails putting me in a “reset your password” loop before I FINALLY got through.
Let the blame the OP begin!
Summer interns….
I have to laugh at all the misspellings in the graphics displayed during the morning local newscast.
So when are you gonna allow me to edit my profile?
Yes! I finally got my email so I can comment again.
Ahh…I’m back, biotches. I couldn’t access or reset my account, but Roz got me back on track!
YAY
Strange thing is, that I’ve been getting them at email addresses that I never used with Consumerist. I suspect phishing attempts of some sort but not gonna click through just to check.
