Target & Neiman Marcus Jumping Into Bed Together For Holiday Designer Hullabaloo

If you’re into getting designer goods at decidedly un-designer prices, you might be familiar with the crazed rush that inevitably ensues at Target stores across the country when the retailer offers a special line of designer products. Starting in December, you can expect that stampede to turn into a full-on riot parade, as Target and luxury retailer Neiman Marcus have announced a new partnership to offer 24 designers in a limited holiday collection.

This next series will be featured at both Target and Neiman Marcus stores starting on Dec. 1, with offerings from designers like  Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg and more. Prices will range from around $8 to $500, but Target says most pieces will run less than $60.

The items will only be available for a limited amount of time, or, as often happens quickly, the stores sell out. And then there’s the fun when Target.com just stops working, as some shoppers may remember from the Missoni debacle of Fall 2011.

Let’s just hope if that happens, there won’t be any more of those scavenging shoppers who swipe everything a store has to offer in order to resell it for a profit later to fashion-hungry people who missed out.
