Arguments between customers and fast food restaurant employees do occasionally result in fisticuffs, but it’s the rare dispute that ends with the customer being stabbed in the gut. Well, not only did that happen at a Del Taco eatery in California, but the accused stabber is now out on bail.
The employee was arrested in the early morning hours of last Thursday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after a customer complained to him about food he had just ordered.
Friends of the stabbed customer took him to the hospital where his condition was considered serious though he was likely to survive the stabbing.
According to the L.A. Times, someone ponied up $25,000 to bail out the suspect, who is scheduled to appear in court again in August.
Del Taco worker out on bail after allegedly stabbing customer [L.A. Times]

Del Taco is better than Taco Bell.
Discuss.
It might taste better, but is it worth being stabbed in the gut?
Only when drunk. And, I only like the little red or green party burritos.
You could make this into a MadLib:
(taco chain) is better than Taco Bell.
Del Taco has 33 cent Taco Tuesdays. They win by virtue of being cheapest.
My word! There are still Del Tacos around? Huzzah! I shall arrange a road trip forthwith.
And I do hope the chap makes a speedy recovery, although I must say, it’s encouraging to see a worker take such pride in his product that he is willing to shed blood in defense of it’s reputation.
Bully!
Attempted murder and he’s out on $25,000 bail? California does love its violent offenders, doesn’t it?
If commenting goes down again with this WordPress ‘upgrade’ I’m going to go all Chihuahua on someone.
This happened in California but there’s a Florida connection:
“The argument erupted at 1:50 a.m. Thursday at the Hemet restaurant on East Florida Avenue“
Sorry, it happened in California. I declare your connection void. We got our own problems.
Brad, did you threaten this customer or use profanity in any way?
If commenting goes down again I’m going to go all chihuahua on someone.
Maybe he stabbed him in the gut to reduce the flatulence expected from eating tacos?
Dell should stick to computers.
“Sir, If you ask me for a Dorito taco one more time, you are going to regeret it.”
That knife holder in the picture next to the story is SICK and I don’t mean in the good
way. What pervert would buy such a thing, the Unabomber probably.
Interesting, I am so enamored by that “knife block” that I intend to build one myself.
It will be interesting to see the employee’s future job application, particularly in the Employment History on the line, “Reason for Leaving.”
