Dole Recalls Bags Of 'Seven Lettuces' For Possible Salmonella Contamination

Bags of salad distributed by Dole Fresh Vegetables are being recalled after a test by the state of New York found some packages of their Dole Seven Lettuces product could possibly be contaminated with salmonella.

The company announced the recall, which includes salad with the April 11, 2012 expiration date, UPC code 71430 01057 and Product Codes 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B, reports the Chicago Tribune. A random sample test collected and conducted in New York found a positive result for salmonella.

Over 15 states, 756 cases are included in the recall, but so far there’s no information about which retailers were involved in distributing the salad. The states included are: Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. No other Dole products are part of the recall.

If you do still have bagged salad that is part of the recall, immediately throw it out. Call Dole with questions at (800) 356-3111, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific Time Monday-Friday.
