Posting A Photo Of Peyton Manning's Large Tip Costs Waiter His Job

We bet when Peyton Manning left a $200 tip on a dinner bill that already included an 18% gratuity, his server was feeling pretty darn lucky. That is, until the owner of the restaurant fired said server after photographic evidence of Manning’s generosity showed up on the Internet. D’oh.

The Triangle Business Journal spoke to the owner of The Angus Barn in Raleigh, N.C., who was none too pleased at her employee’s actions.

“This goes against every policy we have,” she told the paper. “It’s just horrible.” She added that the server was fired immediately, and that she wanted to call Manning to apologize personally. The restaurant loves celebrity visits, and has a policy about keeping high-profile dining experiences private.

We hope that the almost 50% tip (after factoring in the added gratuity) keeps the server warm for awhile at least, awash in the glow of celebrity munificence.
