If you’re in the mood for making your own burgers, we suggest picking up ingredients at a grocery store and trying it at home. We certainly don’t suggest what one Wisconsin man is accused of: Telling the staff at his local Denny’s that he was the new boss and then going straight to work in the kitchen.
According to the Associated Press, a man carrying a briefcase walked into the manager’s office of a Madison, WI, Denny’s and declared tha he was the new general manager.
When the manager tried to contact Denny’s HQ to see what in heckfire was going on, the new “boss” went into the kitchen and cooked himself up a hamburger dinner, complete with dries and a drink.
In the meantime, the manager had gotten confirmation that this kooky fellow was not her new supervisor — though he did claim to have 30 years of experience at the chain of eateries — so she contacted the police.
As authorities took the man (who was also in possession of a stun gun and a crack pipe) away from the restaurant, he told the Denny’s diners, “This is why you don’t dine and dash, kiddie.”
He’s since been charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony possession of an electronic weapon.
