Lawsuit: Petco Dispenses With Veterinarians & Glues Puppy's Ear Back On After Cutting It Off

As my grandpa always said, there’s nothing a little glue can’t fix! Well, a puppy’s ear, actually. Glue can’t fix a puppy’s ear when you cut a piece of it off and return it to the owner, hoping they won’t notice. One woman in Hawaii claims that’s exactly what happened to her pooch during a grooming at Petco.

The woman is suing Petco, reports The Daily Mail, saying she took her Pomerian-Maltese mix Dodo for a routine grooming. When her pooch came back, she says Dodo was covered in dried blood. When she took Dodo to the vet, he said it looked like they’d tried to glue part of an ear back on after it was lopped off.

Another dog owner is also suing Petco, claiming mutilation. She says she picked up her pup to find its nails were cut too short, and were bleeding as a consequence.

Dodo’s owner says she hopes that the lawsuit will force Petco to train their stylists better, should they accidentally harm an animal and then treat it like Mr. Potatohead.

“Even the doctor said they could have saved her ear if they told me right there, but they didn’t,” she said.
