No Matter How Great Those Super Bowl Commercials Are, Don't Forget To Pee

We know you don’t want to look up the Super Bowl commercials on the Internet the day after, that’s how dedicated you are to viewing each and every one when they air, but please, for the love of your urinary tract, don’t forget to get up and pee at some point.

A Houston Press blog checked out the expert advice Methodist Hospital is issuing before the big game, where they of course urge everyone not to drink and drive, as well as not to drink and not visit the john.

“During most sporting events people will get up and use the restroom during the commercials and not have any problem,” said Dr. Jeff Kalina, associate medical director of emergency medicine at Methodist. “However, most of the time the commercials are the best part of the Super Bowl, so we have seen people who have to come in and have a catheter put in to relieve themselves.”

Right! A visual no one was asking for! Methodist goes on to elaborate that those who fail to go to the potty for long periods of time can develop urinary retention, “where the bladder gets so full that the muscles are not strong enough to generate a stream.”

Message received. Bathroom breaks are necessary.

*Wayne spotted this one, so thanks for that!
