Red Roof Inn Listens To Guests & Launches Redesign Based On Feedback

Kudos to those of you who take the time to fill out those surveys after hotel stays, as it seems at least Red Roof Inn was listening. They’ve announced they’re launching a redesign this month after taking in guest feedback from thousands of people.

The L.A. Times says the $90-million effort will affect almost 350 of the hotel’s chains around the country, based on data from emailed surveys of guests in Texas, Georgia and Ohio over the last year and a half.

On the top of the list for guests is more electrical outlets in the rooms, for plugging in all the various technological accoutrements we travel with these days. Red Roof Inn has pledged a minimum of four extra outlets in each room.

Next up? Flat-screen TVs in every room by the end of 2012, as well as removing carpeting and replacing it with “wood-like flooring,” more powerful shower heads and additional bathroom counter space.

“When someone is traveling, they want to feel at home, or better,” Red Roof President Andrew Alexander said in a statement.

Apparently they didn’t get my suggestion for free cupcakes every morning. Oh well!
