McDonald's Franchisee Raises $14,000 In One Night For Families Of Car Crash Victims

Earlier this week, five teens were killed in a car crash in the town of New Oxford, PA. In an effort to bring the community together, the owner of a local McDonald’s franchise hosted a fundraiser last night, where 100% of his proceeds for the evening went to offer financial support to the families of those lost in the horrible incident.

The fundraiser was supposed to only last from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, but the massive number of people who showed up to contribute kept the event going through the evening.

According to local news reports, people lined up around the building, as students from New Oxford High School also collected donations outside and, assisted by local police, along the adjoining street.

Sales of McDonald’s food raised more than $11,000 and the students collected another $3,000.

“You want to help, and sometimes you don’t know how,” one woman tells the Evening Sun newspaper. “But through this, you know you’re helping.”
