Spa Offers Gift Certificate To Stanley Cup Rioters Who Turn Themselves In To Police

It’s been several months since the Boston Bruins swept the Vancouver Canucks to win the Stanley Cup, triggering riots in the Canadian metropolis. But with a new hockey season just begun, one Vancouver spa thinks it’s time that those involved in the riots soothe their souls by fessing up to the police, and soothe their sore muscles with a massage.

To qualify for a $50 “Calm Down & De-Stress” gift certificate, former rioters need to show photo ID, describe how they were involved in the riot (i.e., looting, arson, etc.), then apply their fingerprints to the certificate before turning themselves in to the Vancouver Police. Only after the police provide the rioter with an official arrest form will their gift certificate be activated.

Explains the Eccotique spa:

This is a win/win situation for the alleged rioters and the VPD. Suspects can finally come to terms with their conscience, while the police can see justice is done. These people obviously had a lot of pent up anger during all the chaos. We think they need to learn how to calm down and relax, which fits perfectly with our spa offerings.

This is not a reward for the culprits. We want to see as many charges laid as possible with this. We’re happy to donate the $50 gift certificates if it identifies the suspects.
