Feds Charge 37 Boeing Workers In Drug Bust

Giving headline writers an excellent opportunity to make puns about aerospace workers getting high, federal agents arrested 37 Boeing workers in a drug bust at a plant near Philadelphia. The undercover operation was a four-year sting meant to expose a ring of prescription drug abuse.

According to CNNMoney, a suspect who was charged with 12 counts of distributing oxycodone faces 240 years in prison and a $2.5 million fine. The drugs were bought and sold on Boeing property, and company officials tipped off authorities about the alleged crimes.

From a Boeing statement:

“An internal Boeing investigation determined that potentially illegal activities were being conducted by certain employees at the Philadelphia Boeing facility. Boeing reported the company’s findings to federal law enforcement officials and cooperated fully with the subsequent investigation and interdiction.”
