Saggy Pants Fines Bring City $3,916.49

Albany, Georgia is raking in the dough by fining people who violate the city’s saggy pants ban.

The Albany Herald reports that in the past 9 months, the city has issued 187 saggy pants citations and collected $3,916.49 in fines. The ordinance bans anyone from wearing pants or skirts more than three inches below the tops of the hips which expose bare skin or underwear.

A first-time violation is $25. Repeated offenders can get fined up to $200.

In other words, you can pay a $25 fee for a temporary saggy pants license. I wonder if the cops are being issued tape measures for enforcing the ban. How will the money will be disbursed? I recommend it go entirely to subsidies for the belt industry.
