What Walmart Wants To Do To Be Nicer To Women By 2016

Walmart’s corporate types are apparently aware that the company doesn’t have the most chivalrous reputation when it comes to business dealings with females. The company revealed a plan to make itself appear more friendly to women in the next four years and change.

The L.A. Times details the company’s ideas:

*Commit $20 billion to buying from female-led suppliers and double its sourcing from female-led foreign distributors.

*Train 60,000 female factory workers to develop business skills and help promote them into management.

*Help 200,000 low-income women in the U.S. gain job skills and attend college, and do the same for 200,000 women internationally.

*Team with professional service firms and suppliers to increase female and minority presence on their accounts with the company.

Funding for the initiatives will come from $100 million from the Walmart Foundation and donations from its businesses around the globe.
