Scientists Identify Planet Made Of Diamond

Somewhere out there is a planet made largely out of diamond. An international team of scientists identified the celestial body as the remains of what used to be a star in the Milky Way Galaxy. One can only assume it’s large enough to be placed on a Jennifer Lopez engagement ring.

According to Sydney, Australia’s The Daily Telegraph, which relays findings that were published in the journal Science, researchers spotted the planet orbiting a pulsar from a radio telescope in Melbourne.

Due to the planet’s size and mass, the scientists determined the planet, which is 4,000 light years away, is “crystalline and that a large part of the star is similar to a diamond.”
